The Problem--Sky High Housing Costs--After 2008, the Obama Administration permanently distorted the US Single Family Residential Housing by allowing Private Equity Funds —such as BlackRock, Carlyle Group—Foreign Investors and Money Center Banks buy Residential Homes using money they borrowed from the Federal Reserve. This predatory practice pitting individual families against Wall Street must stop immediately. It has compromised the fiduciary integrity of our housing market. It artificially inflated housing prices beyond the reach of regular Americans.
The Solution--Affordable Houses for American Families Act-- I will call for an immediate 6-month divestiture of all residential homes purchased using leverage in any state of the United States since 2008 by any Private Equity Funds; any REITS or Hedge Funds & Foreign Investors. This AHAF Act Divestiture Program will also assess a 98% levy on any appreciation on such home at the time of sale. The proceeds of these sales and levies will be used to fund mortgage of individual home buyers. This AHAF ACT will restore balance to the individual single family home market as it restores the American Dream of home ownership back to American Families.
